Pump Station Maintenance Worker

This is a full-time union position with a competitive benefits package.  Duties include operating, repairing, and maintaining the Easttown Township Sanitary Sewer System, including mains, laterals, and pump stations under the direction of the Township Sewer Crew Chief.  The Pump Station Maintenance Worker will: 1) assist the Pump Station Operator(s) or Sewer Crew Chief with inspections of sewer lines and pump stations, 2) collect charts and read meters, 3) test equipment, 4) clean, repair, and repaint equipment and structures, 5) perform preventative maintenance, 6) locate underground sewer lines when requested by contractors preparing to excavate, 7) perform other duties as assigned.  The position requires the Worker to be on-call twenty-four hours a day to address sanitary sewer, highway, and snow emergencies. 

Minimum qualifications of the position are:  1) high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. certificate, 2) 1 to 2 years of experience in construction, facility maintenance and repair and sanitary sewer maintenance and repair, 3) valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Class B CDL or ability to obtain CDL within 90-days of hire date, 4) willingness to acquire a DEP waste water license (at least a Class: E , Subclass: 4 within 12 to 24 months of the hire date, 5) knowledge of safe working practices (including safety signage, confined space access, and work zone traffic control), 6) physical condition to perform the required tasks and to permit regular attendance, 7) ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
